Yes, Breaking news after years of having to wait weeks sometimes months for you CT Guard Card to work we can now begin working immediately after applying for the CT Guard Card with the CT Dept of Emergency Services and Public Protection!!!

According to Public Act No. 18-20 after an applicant for the Connecticut Security Officer License has applied for their license with the CT Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection they can work while waiting for your license so you can begin to work immediately after applying for you CT Guard Card. Here’s how the process works.

If you want to become a security officer in Connecticut you need a license. In order to get that license, you have to take an 8-hour training course for certification.

Cost of the in-person class is $100 and the hybrid-online class is $175 for tuition and does not include fingerprints, background checks, and the license itself, which is good for 5 years. You can begin working in Connecticut as soon as you have applied for your license. Here is all the info you need to register and pay online. You simply hit the “upcoming courses” tab at the top of the page, search the schedule, pick the day and class you wish to attend, then hit the register and pay button on the class and it will guide you from there.
